My First Attempt at a Villanelle

Inspired by Artist Friend. I had half-way written it when I realized the rhyme scheme should be aba and was too lazy to think of more rhymes.

Tensegrity

Who ever thought much of tensgrity?
For it, compression and tension are key.
Without it, many things would cease to be.

From the words tensional integrity,
Buckminster Fuller sought more brevity.
Who ever thought much of tensgrity?

Isolated struts give anatomy.
Tension defines the structure spatially.
Without it, many things would cease to be.

It can be seen architecturally.
Kurilpa Bridge spans an estuary.
Who ever thought much of tensgrity?

In the cell's cytoskeleton, you see
Tubulin struts, actin rigidity.
Without it, many things would cease to be.

Sculpture of Snelson shows the verity.
Art, architecture, and biology,
Who ever thought much of tensgrity?
